Summerlea Community Primary School

Our School - Vision and Values

At Summerlea, we promote our vision and values on a daily basis and they underpin everything we do here at school.

Our vision, values and ethos:

“Growing ambition to be individual, independent and life-long learners.”

Our vision and values

Vision

  • Every unique individual is well-known, cared for, nurtured and supported to do their best. We aim to develop the individuality of each child so they have a genuine voice.
  • We offer a curriculum that inspires and challenges all learners, ensuring children are well-rounded, empathetic young people who have a thirst for learning.
  • With a welcoming atmosphere, we aim to provide a positive, safe learning environment for children to learn, creating a sense of belonging for our families.
  • We aim to nurture the skills, talents and abilities of all pupils so they leave Summerlea ready for the next stage of their academic journey and beyond.
  • Through a passion for learning, rooted in mutual respect and warm honest relationships, our school community provides a platform for all to succeed and achieve.
  • Our curriculum builds on pupils’ strengths and interests and experiences - developing children’s confidence in their capacity to learn and work independently and collaboratively.
  • We encourage all students and staff to have big dreams and believe that through hard work and positivity they can achieve anything: valuing the ambition of every person - the building blocks for future greatness.

Our VALUES are known as 'The Summerlea Seven'.  Our values are at the core of everything we do.  They underpin our teaching and learning and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy members of their community.
